Confederate War Memorial
Confederate War Memorial, or Civil War Memorial, is a monument in Forsyth Park, a park in the historic district of Savannah. The memorial honors soldiers who died during the American Civil War and presents a bronze statue of a Confederate soldier on a 48-foot tall shaft.
The monument was dedicated in 1875, and it is one of the oldest and largest Confederate monuments in Georgia.
Battlefield Memorial Park
Battlefield Memorial Park is a historic landmark located at 303 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, opposite the Savannah History Museum.
This historic monument commemorates one of the fiercest battles from the Revolutionary War that occurred on October 9, 1779, when the French, Haitians, and American troops battled against the British soldiers who were stationed in Savannah.

This museum is housed in a 19th-century railway shed and exhibits local military, industry, art & cultural artifacts. Bonaventure Cemetery
Bonaventure Cemetery is the largest of the city’s municipal cemeteries, containing nearly 160 acres, located at 330 Bonaventure Road. It is the last resting place for many notable Savannah residents and Spanish–American War Veterans. It is also the nation’s second-largest area for those killed in the Spanish–American War.
The cemetery has become popular because of the novel and the movie Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, directed by Clint Eastwood. Also, because it is designed as a traditional Victorian cemetery with curving pathways, many trees, and grassy areas, it isn’t unusual to see people walking around or even having an outdoor meal.
Emmet Park (The Strand)
Emmet Park, or The Strand, is a municipal park located at 4089 E Bay St, in a historic district of Savannah.
It is home to many historical monuments, like the Irish Celtic Cross memorial, a Vietnam and Korean War veterans memorials, the Chatham Artillery monument, and a memorial to Dr. Noble Wimberly Jones, a leading Georgia patriot in the American Revolution.
Ralph Mark Gilbert Civil Rights Museum
Ralph Mark Gilbert Civil Rights Museum is located at 460 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, just in the center of Savannah’s Historic Landmark District.
This museum was established in 1996 and is home to meticulous explanations of the civil rights movement in America. In addition, it presents photos, films, and interactive exhibits detailing this period of American history.
