BASICS OF STATESBORO
Southeast of Georgia is a home to several significant counties and cities. Among them, there is a Bulloch County established in 1796. Bulloch County is named after Archibald Bulloch who was a provincial governor of Georgia. This county is a home to our topic today: city of Statesboro.
Statesboro is the largest town in Bulloch County, and the metropolitan area it belongs has a population of over 72 thousand. The city alone counts 28,422 people who contribute to the fast development and growth of the city. Along with that, Statesboro is also the biggest micropolitan area in the state of Georgia. The city covers 13.9 square miles of land which makes it the largest town in Magnolia Midlands region.
History of Statesboro and its main facility
The history of Statesboro started around 1803 when it emerged as a negligible trading community which provided everything needed for cotton plantations around it. During the Civil War and after this remained an important economic factor. Today, Statesboro is famous for being a college town and gathering hundreds of new students each year. Residents take most pride in Georgia Southern University which is a doctoral research university. It was only 1906 when important leaders of surrounding areas of Statesboro decided to compete for “First District A&M” school which eventually emerged into prestigious Georgia Southern University.
Many of you are surprised to find out that Statesboro outperformed Savannah in selling cotton bales during the 1900s. However, due to the boll weevil contagion in 1930, the city shifted to tobacco. We are sure you’ve heard someone whistle the famous Statesboro blues song from the Allman Brothers Band but we are not certain you know that Statesboro Blues was a song originally written by Blind Willie McTell.

Modern Statesboro
Most enchanting about this city is its vivid atmosphere and rich culture. When you first come to Statesboro and communicate with a few locals, you will notice right away a blend of southern heritage and modern college town way of living.
